Rotterdam School of Management: ‘Why the CFO should become a Chief Value Officer’

The growing toxic cocktail of societal challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity degradation and ongoing human rights violations, demands from executives that they fundamentally redefine value in the board room, says Werner Schouten, director at the Impact Economy Foundation. He believes societal impact should be at the heart of organisational decision-making, and that, as a result, the CFO turns into a Chief Value Officer (CVO).
